PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS:
That's Not Me
A film that hopes to change the typical perceptions adults have
of teenagers. The Sky Is Red
A film that explores what it means to be homeless in Santa Cruz,
with the goal of breaking stereotypes by giving those who haven't
had a chance to speak to be heard.
Choice or Privilege
A film that focuses on healthy living in Santa Cruz.
What the Camera Could Not Capture
A film featuring Dina Groltliebova's
sobering story of survival, of art, and of life.
The goal of YEY is to forge a continuing relationship in which
UCSC film students mentor local high school film students in
the creation of ten-minute documentary shorts based upon socially
important, community-based issues. The program's first student
films are now ready for viewing, and Visionary Arts & Media
cordially invites all who wish to build a stronger Santa Cruz
to the first public screening.
We welcome our Mayor, Cynthia Matthews,
and the
Santa Cruz community to our first annual YEY screening.
We encourage you to support our youth
by attending this event.
